Makita 7″ Angle Grinder with Lock-On Switch
The Makita 7″ Angle Grinder with Lock-On Switch (GA7081) features a powerful 15 AMP motor that delivers 8,500 RPM for faster material removal. The GA7081 features a redesigned motor with greater armature stability and larger commutator bars for 3 times longer life compared to the previous model. The Angle Grinder features a power switch with both lock-off and lock-on capabilities as well as anti-restart. The rear handle trigger switch requires two actions to start the grinder.
The Angle Grinder features soft start, which suppresses start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life. It features spiral bevel gears for smoother rotations and a more efficient transfer of energy. The GA7081 features a brush door that provides easy access to brushes for convenient replacement and protects the serial number identification label. It also has a brush spiral spring that allows for a 30% larger brush and increased airflow compared to the previous model, as well as an aluminum gear housing that provides superior gear alignment and smoother transmission for increased durability.
Convenience features include a three-position vibration-absorbing side handle for increased comfort, a large spindle lock button for easier wheel changes while wearing gloves, and a rubberized back handle for increased operator comfort. It also features labyrinth construction, which prevents debris from penetrating the motor, bearings, and gears for longer tool life as well zig-zag epoxy on both sides of the armature coil and a powder-coated field for added protection from dust and debris for longer motor life.
