When the weather becomes frigid, this add-on offers extra protection for your Generac home standby generator against falling temperatures so it can continue to provide your business with heat, water and power. The Generac Extreme Cold Weather Kit contains mounting hardware that may need to be used, as well as step by step instructions on how to install the generator block heater, although we recommend that an authorized dealer performs the installation. It is important that the oil in your generator is changed to an appropriate synthetic oil before installing the kit, the generator block heater will help keep the liquid running smoothly and ensure the machine operates at full capacity. When temperatures fall below normal cold weather kit ratings, this Generac Extreme Cold Weather Kit and a battery warmer kit can be used to provide maximum protection against the frigid temperatures.
The extreme cold weather kit includes the appropriate block heater, step by step installation instructions and all necessary mounting hardware for an extra degree of extreme weather protection
This kit is to be used in conjunction with the appropriate cold weather kit – model 5629 that contains the necessary battery warmer assembly
It is important to note that it is recommended that an authorized dealer install the extreme cold weather kit as improper installation procedures can inhibit proper generator function
